This website has been online for over 20 years and it seeems to be in every spammer's database around the world! I finally gave up fighting it. On June 16th, 2024, I deleted my email contact form. You can still contact me directly, but you must first get on my email list.

Or you can send physical mail to me via this address:

I am currently traveling internationally and have no fixed address, moving on average every 12 to 18 months. I do use the mailing address above. However, it can take months for mail to reach me, so best to send me an email using the form above.

  1. Hi Ryan, I am thinking of training in the work of Moshe Feldenkrais.

I’m currently in Melbourne, Australia – there is a Feldy training in Brisbane just 1700km up the coast starting in October 2012. But I’d rather find something that betters suits my needs.

The structure of the trainings known to me seem more suited to the idle rich than my current circumstances. Thats not to say that I wouldn’t benefit more from a training spread over 4 years. But it makes the risk of not completing the training seem far higher.

Cheaper would be nice but its the on-going breaks, accommodation costs and concurrent losses of income that are the major obstacles.

I’ve read on your blog that Mia Segal and Yochanan Rywerant were conducting their own trainings. Are there still trainings (in English) through their lineages? Any others that you’ve heard of?

“Do people realize that when they take a Guild training they are supporting a trainer monopoly? Do they realize that prices are artificially inflated by limits placed on the number of people who can become trainers?”

This made me smile. I did the Rolfing training with the Rolf Institute Corporation in 1990. Yes it is a Corporation and yes the “member Representatives” are actually Corporation Board members with primary legal responsibilities to the well being of the corporation. I could go on but the broad brush strokes seem the same as what I read on your blog about the succession from Moshe.

My wife did the Alexander Trainings and the story within the AT world is pretty much the same too.

Anyway, I hope to hear from you.
    Thanks
    Erl
